5 Landscaping ideas for the beginners

10/2/2016

We all like to have backyards and open spaces ion our homes but when it comes to designing them and using our creativity to make them stand out, we often find ourselves doubting our creativity. We want to create a look that would be inviting, warm and welcoming at the same time. It should resonate with the feel of our home and should blend in perfectly. If that is what you want when you look for landscaping ideas for your backyard and front yard, here are 7 ideas to help you out.
  • Start with a list
Keeping your family, their likes and dislikes in mind, make a list of the things you think they would need or want to have. Do they like to gather outside on the patio a lot? Do your kids need a lot of space for playing? Look for the things you should be having in your home when you make a rough sketch of the landscaping ideas you can incorporate around you. A sketch is going to make things a lot easier to understand and visualize.
  • Look for the sun
The position of the sun and the wind plays an important role in landscape design. You might want to shift the sitting area to someplace which doesn’t get too hot around the dinner time in summers or too windy to make it uncomfortable. These are very little things but when it comes to functionality, they are very important. Plan your landscape design keeping these factors in mind and come up with solutions for them as well.
  • Think carefully
Do not rush to implement the landscape design that comes to your head in the first go. Let the idea sink in before you go ahead with it. You might end up excluding a lot of things that would seem practical in the moment but are really aren’t needed.
  • Start small
Instead of taking up the whole landscape design project in just a few days. Take it small. This would give you enough time to plan the project with detail and keep improvising as you go. Rushing things will take the fun out of it and make you go for shortcuts and lazy attitude.
  • Come up with a focal point
Work around a focal point. Instead of focusing on multiple aspects. Work around a focal point to give more persona to your landscape design. It could be anything from a tree to a lamp post that would be the center point of your whole landscape design.

For any landscape design to come through, you would need to be very patient. Use your creativity and plan out the whole design with precision. You wouldn’t want to waste your time and energy on something that is not even needed after a couple of months. Start simple and then build onto the design as you move along to keep it more real and attractive.
