For many, it many playing outside until it got dark on the weekdays, staying up late to watch TV and not having many responsibilities. It was about going to the pool, backyard barbecues, playing hide and seek in the yard when the sun went down, or watching the fireflies. Of course; we get older, and during those 3 glorious seasons there’s work. And bills. And if you’re married, you have the distinction of dealing with children that used to enjoy the seasons as you did. And as you look at the window from your cubicle, you have to realize that life is good. While you wish you could be outside on a perfect day, you also content yourself with a few facts that keep you going. On the weekend, you’ve planned a cookout in the backyard. If you’re the kind of person that has become quite particular, the idea of having friends and family at a cookout at a public pool is a bit...well, disgusting. So the job has paid for the nice house with a spacious backyard, the quite fancy grill that only you use, and because you want the kids to remember these days: a nice pool. And when you really think about it: it’s a vindication for all the work you put in: the hard days, the ones where you have to feel the deep freeze of winter. During the summer; even after you’ve had a long day at work, you’re able to go outside and grill a tasty dinner. Play hide and seek with the kids, and swim. And if you don’t have kids, don’t feel bad. You still can sit out at night, watch the fireflies, put on some music and take a solitary dip in the swimming pool.
Despite what most people think: owning a pool isn’t as expensive as it was maybe 20 years ago. In fact, the setup and maintenance of a pool these days is quite affordable. The only thing needed is to understand that if you decide to get a pool, know not only what kind you want, but also go with a reputable company. Save yourself the heartache of those flyby night companies, because in the end, you want to think of the joys: summer nights, relaxing after grilling and cleaning the dishes after a great meal, playing with the kids or even watching the fireflies, a nice swim. Or in the morning; before work, a relaxing swim or a few laps to get ready for the day’s endeavors.
Because a backyard - especially one with a pool - can be nothing but Heaven.
