Swimming pools and beaches provide a perfect place to relax and enjoy fun water games. They are ideal for you and your family to enjoy during the summer season. Water games cool off participants by providing them with great fun. They are perfect for every age group. You can enjoy water games during picnics, camping, and other outdoor recreational activities.
Beach Relay Race
For this game, you will need the following materials beach bag carrying towels, sunglasses, and magazines. One lawn chair for each of the participating teams.
The teams will gather in lines at just a short distance from the beach or pool. All teams will have a player go, in a relay-race fashion carrying the lawn chair and the beach bag to the designated point on the beach or pool.
Each player must arrange the chair, spread the towel, put the sunglasses on, open the magazine, and repack the bag. After which they return and give the bag to the next player on their team. Any team that completes the task first is declared the winner.
Jump Rope Water Splash
The required materials include jump ropes and paper or plastic cups filled with water.
Each player will be given a cup full of water, then he or she will try to make three consecutive jumps (holding the cup) without spilling the water. Two participants twirl a jump rope, as others try not to spill water from their cups. The one who manages to keep the water longest is declared the winner.
Melting Ice Cubes
Line players up in two teams with an equal number of participants. Give the first players on both teams an ice cube. After that, the player rubs the cube between his hands to try to melt it. When a participant's hands get too cold, he or she passes the cube to the next player in line. The first group to succeed in melting the ice cube is declared the winner.
Water Balloon Toss
Water balloons are a fun, and inexpensive water game tool. The tossing game shared here can be played as a team game. All you need is enough water balloons for the participants who would be paired in twos plus some extra balloons. Two lines of matched participants, face each other and toss the balloon back and forth. They take one step backward after each toss. The winner is the pair that is able to do this longest without popping the balloons.
Note
Swimming in a pool offers a lot of fun, but by adding some cool pool activities to it, you can enjoy more. When playing any of the pool games recommended above, remember to follow pool safety rules. Some pool games might not be ideal for younger children or smaller pools. Verify the recommended age on pool toys that you purchase for children. Pay close attention to your children if they are the ones playing the game.
